Typical of Bairro Alto guesthouses, the Camões has simple rooms on a couple of floors of an apartment building and is overseen by a bustling matron. For the price, don't expect great comfort; do expect clean, bright rooms with beds that don't sag. Rooms facing the street have little balconies -- which make for noisy nights but give you a window onto Bairro Alto life. There's a small breakfast room, or you can step out into the neighborhood for coffee and pastries.
