Fodor's Review:
On the same street as the Museu de Arte Antiga, this late-18th-century mansion was once the home of Portuguese novelist Eça de Queirós. Fittings, furnishings, paintings, and tile work throughout are in keeping with the building's historic character. Its guest rooms are individually furnished and tasteful; some have access to the garden via an exterior staircase. On the ivy-covered patio, you can eat breakfast and imagine yourself in a different age. Reservations are vital for stays here.
