Book NowSolar do Castelo Review
What's better than staying in an 18th-century mansion? How about if that mansion is within the walls of a castle, with Roman ruins below? In this, one of the city's most unusual lodgings, numerous original architectural features have been lovingly restored, including elegant masonry and tile work. Featuring classical furnishings and subtle color schemes, the standard rooms in the original building offer nice views of the Rio Tejo; rooms in the newer wing incorporate parts of the castle wall. A sun-drenched courtyard acts as a breakfast area and is home to a family of peacocks. There's no restaurant, but there are plenty of them a short walk away.
