The surviving fragment of Kraków's city wall opposite the Barbakan, where students and amateur artists hang their paintings for sale in the summer, is the Muzeum Czartoryskich, a fantastic small museum that is part of the National Gallery. The collection includes such celebrated paintings as Rembrandt's Landscape with the Good Samaritan. The prize—and to many observers the most beautiful portrait ever painted—is Leonardo da Vinci's Cecilia Gallerani, also known as the Lady with an Ermine.
