Without question this hotel around the corner from Kraków's main square is the most elegant address for visitors to the city and the one most accessible to the major sights. The decor is Regency inspired, though most of the furnishings are reproductions. Suite 11 has two large bathrooms, a gilded ceiling, and a bedroom fit for a potentate. The banquet room has its own miniature hall of mirrors.

The atmosphere is that of a museum, one dedicated to mummies. I was surprised not to find Franz Joseph stuffed & sitting in a chair. Drapes in the bedrooms do not come within 3 feet of meeting, so you cannot keep out light, breakfast buffet is, at best, mediocre. We chose this hotel because of location which was a mistake. Location is the only thing this place has going for it & its not enough to offset everything else. If you choose this hotel don't let the staff know that the 19th century has ended - the shock might kill them.
