Atlanterhavsparken (Atlantic Sea Park)
Atlanterhavsparken (Atlantic Sea Park) Review
Teeming with aquatic life, this is one of Scandinavia's largest aquariums. Right on the ocean, 3 km (2 mi) west of town, the park emphasizes aquatic animals of the North Atlantic, including anglers, octopus, and lobster. See the daily diving show at which the fish are fed. The divers actually enter a feeding frenzy of huge, and sometimes aggressive, halibut and wolffish. The Humbodt penguins are also popular with children. After your visit, have a picnic, hike, or take a refreshing swim at the adjoining Tueneset Park. The bus which leaves from St. Olavs Plass, makes the 15-minute journey to the park once every hour during the day, Monday through Saturday. There's also a shuttle bus from the cruise terminal (NKr 200 round-trip).
