Åsgårdstrand

Since 1920 the coastal town of Åsgårdstrand has been a popular vacation and bathing spot. A couple of decades before that, it was known as an artists' colony for outdoor painting, attracting Edvard Munch, Fritz Thaulow, and others. In summer the local tourist office can arrange guided history tours of the area, led by well-versed guides.
