Book NowGrand Hotel Review
In the center of town on Karl Johans Gate, the Grand opened in 1874. The hotel is the choice of visiting heads of state, and there is even a Nobel suite. Ibsen used to drink brandy at the Grand Café in the company of journalists. Munch was also a regular guest; you can see him with his contemporaries in Per Krohg's painting on the café's far wall. Norwegians book several years in advance for National Day, May 17, in order to have a room overlooking the parades below.
