Fodor's Review:

Rich Baldishol tapestries from 1100, Norwegian dragon-style furniture, and royal apparel (including Queen Sonja's wedding gown from 1968) make this a must-see museum. Founded in 1876, it also has exquisite collections of Norwegian 18th-century silver, glass, and faience. A contemporary Scandinavian section follows the history of design and crafts in the region.

  • Cost: NKr 25, special exhibits NKr 65
  • Open: Tues., Wed., and Fri. 11-4; Thurs. 11-7; weekends 11-4
