An important Bergen institution and one of the largest museums in Norway, the Bergen Art Museum is housed in several buildings along Lake Lille Lungeårdsvann. Works by Max Ernst, Paul Klee, Vassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and the Dutch Renaissance masters are all on display. Norwegian artists include Edvard Munch, J. C. Dahl, Adolph Tidemand, Hans Gude, Harriet Backer, and Per Krogh.
