Potetkjelleren
Potetkjelleren Review
A popular contemporary restaurant in surroundings dating back to the Middle Ages, Potetkjelleren means "potato cellar," and the restaurant's two main dining rooms are indeed old brick-walled storage rooms in the basement. Everything but the menu seems slightly off-balance here: the chairs and tables have a rickety feel, mostly due to the uneven stone-tile floor. What the restaurant lacks in comfort it more than makes up for in quality and atmosphere: the cozy cellar is perfect for a romantic candlelight dinner, the service is friendly and efficient, and the kitchen turns out delicious dishes like panfried halibut with fennel polenta and organic pork with potato gnocchi and morel sauce.
