Bergen Museum Review

Part of the University of Bergen, this museum has two collections. The Cultural History Department has a fascinating collection of archaeological artifacts and furniture and folk art from western Norway. Some of the titles of the displays are "Viking Norway," "Roses and Legends in Norwegian Folk Art," and "Ibsen in Bergen"; the latter focuses on the famous playwright's six years in Bergen working with the local theater. The Natural History Department is perfect for lovers of the outdoors, since it includes botanical gardens. Exhibits with special focus on Norway include "The Ice Age," "Whales," (Northern Europe's largest collection) and "Hordaland" (Bergen's region)
