Ramore Wine Bar

Fodor's Review

Creative, moderately priced fare, alongside panoramic views in an elegant setting, attract locals and tourists to this popular restaurant and wine bar complex. The light-filled Mermaid Kitchen and Bar with white wooden panelling, conjures up a beachside feel evocative of somewhere on the coast of Maine, except you're looking out on Portrush's West Strand (although admittedly Belfast is only 60 miles south). Dominating the menu is the bountiful produce of the sea with eight

different types of grilled fish including sea bass, halibut, and dover sole. If you're in the mood for a smaller plate try fresh white crab, spicy fried monkish, or salt chilli prawns, each priced at £5.95—all delicious, especially when washed down with a steely Sancerre and accompanied by a north coast sunset. There is also an ample selection of steak, pork, chicken, and lamb. The more informal Harbour Bistro serves burgers and chicken and ham pie, while the Coast Restaurant specializes in pizzas and pasta.
