Legermuseum (Netherlands Army Museum)

Legermuseum (Netherlands Army Museum) Review

Delft's former armory makes an appropriate setting for an impressive military museum. Despite the gentle images of Dutch life, the origins of the Dutch Republic were violent. It took nothing less than the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648) to finally achieve independence from the Spanish crown. In addition to the guns, swords, and other implements of warfare, all periods of Dutch military history are explored in detail, from Roman times to the German occupation during World War II.
