Dark wooden floors, unobtrusive lighting, and a big fireplace make Kip's traditional interior warm and cozy. As befits the restaurant's name (which means chicken), the chicken breast (from a special Dutch breed called Hollandse blauwhoender) with truffles is the most popular dish, but the kitchen offers a whole lot more. There's always a daily-changing fish option, such as cod with saffron-and-fennel sauce, and plenty of meatier fare, such as veal in wild mushroom sauce. The menu must work, because this spot is always packed. In summer, a leafy garden at the back provides welcome respite from the bustle of the big city.
