Fodor's Review

Dudok is a great place for people-of-every-stripe-watching: politicians debating over a beer, fashionistas toying with their salads, and pensioners tucking into an afternoon tea of cream cakes and salmon sandwiches. The vast granite-and-metal interior looks like a cross between a 1930s railway station and an ultracontemporary factory, and besides the countless small tables and roomy bar area, there's a communal central table and a packed magazine rack to keep solo diners busy. The menu combines international dishes—carpaccio of beef, steaks, and grilled chicken—with traditional Dutch fare such as mustard soup (surprisingly mild and flavorsome) and sausage with cabbage. Additional pluses include a terrace for outdoor dining and a postmidnight closing Thursday–Saturday.
