Amsterdam Sights

Woonbootmuseum (Houseboat Museum)

Updated 08/24/2012

Fodor's Review

There are around 2,250 houseboats in Amsterdam (and one especially for cats—the Poezenboot [Cat Boat] asylum that floats opposite Singel 38). The converted 1914-built sailing vessel, the Hendrika Maria, provides a glimpse into this unique lifestyle. It almost feels as if you are visiting grandma, and there's even a special child-play zone.
