Amsterdam locals closely guard their pick for the best (and cheapest) steakhouse in the city—but that doesn't prevent hoards of diners descending on this bustling bistrolike Dutch institution. Filled with students, hipsters, and families alike, it also allures with a wonderful terrace. Simply choose whether you want a beef fillet for €16.50 or a spicier version called a "bali" for €17.50; extra-large versions cost slightly more. Keep in mind that all steaks are served rare—you can't get them any other way. There's also hamburger, pork schnitzel, and, for the non-beef eater, sole and tuna. Finish your meal with the sticky toffee cake before leaving for a well-deserved nap.
