Abyssinia

Abyssinia Review

A bit off the beaten track (but conveniently close to Vondelpark), Abyssinia specializes in the eat-with-your-hands enjera -based meals of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Sourdough pancakes are served with a variety of spicy (and often vegetarian) dishes that have been influenced by the region's geographical position between Asia, Africa, and the Arabic world. The restaurant is filled with rattan couches, which are the perfect perch from which to drink African beer from a calabash shell or indulge in a full coffee ceremony.
