At the northern end of Kloverniersburgwal, the square known as Nieuwmarkt hosts a small-scale boerenmarkt, or farmers' market, on Monday through Saturday from 9 to 5. You'll find essential oils, fresh soaps, and other New Age needs alongside flowers, cheese, organic breads, and fresh-pressed juices. On Sundays from 9 to 5, delightful curiosa, art, and books appear when the antiekmarkt (antique market) throws the shrouds off its stalls.
