Woonboatmuseum

Fodor's Review:

In Amsterdam nearly 8,000 people (and a whole gaggle of cats at the cat asylum that floats opposite Singel 38) live on more than 2,400 houseboats. This converted 1914-built sailing vessel, the Hendricka Maria, provides a glimpse into this unique lifestyle. It almost feels as if you are visiting Grandma—there's even a special child-play zone.

  • Cost: EUR 3.25
  • Open: Mar.-Oct., Tues.-Sun. 11-5; Nov.-Feb., Fri.-Sun. 11-5
