This branch of the world-famous wax museum, above the Peek & Cloppenburg department store, depicts Holland's glitterati, including Golden Age celebrities—there's a life-size, 3-D rendering of a painting by Vermeer (alas, the lighting is dubious), and even an understandably displaced-looking Piet Mondriaan. Of course, there is also a broad selection of international superstars, including George W. Bush, who is caught in a suitably presidential pose. Bring your own ironic distance, or skip it altogether. People watching in the Dam is much more entertaining than wax watching in Madame Tussauds.
