Fodor's Review:
The Flying Saucer has been providing tasty and inexpensive vegetarian fare for a couple of decades now. With buffet-style serving and a squatter's aesthetic, this is alternative Amsterdam at its best, one that you will grow to appreciate all the more if you wash your dinner down with some organic beer or wine. If the dining room's full or your need for spelt hits you around lunchtime, the more kitschy but no less vegan-friendly De Bolhoed (Prinsengracht 60, 020/626-1803), complete with patio, is but a short stroll away.
