Welcome to Istanbul Junior, where in a simple and modern setting you can indulge in grilled meats (and the appropriate firewaters with which to wash it all down). All the while, your children will invariably be entertained by the extraordinarily warm staff. This hidden treasure comes with a canal-side terrace (from which, on your way out, you can pay your respects to the bustling kitchen staff). Reservations are especially recommended.

We ate at Levant last night. We really enjoyed it. There was no English menu, which told us not a lot of English speaking people come here. For starters there are about 6 choices. The server brought out a tray that had all of them. We chose a spread made with tomatoes and spices, very good. We also had octopus with lemon and parsley, excellent. We shared our 2 entrees, quail and lamb, both very nice. The quail was roasted with lovely spices, served with noodles, bland. The lamshoulder) was more boiled than anything else, with lettuce and artichoke bottoms filled with peas, very good. For dessert we had a very light lemon tart that was more like a fluffy cheesecake. The restaurant was a little warm, but the meal was worth it. Just not used to the smoking.....hard to deal with!! we are spoiled in Calif.!
