Downstairs at "The Cow," the cooks crowded into the tiny kitchen manage to pump out wonderfully prepared dishes. Despite the restaurant's name, the ever-changing menu tends to favor less beef and more fish, ostrich (made with truffle sauce), and vegetarian tortelloni. The crowd is largely local, casual, and friendly. Upstairs from the café is an equally earthy and popular bar.
