$$-$$$, Museum District
Fodor's Review:
Just a block from the Vondelpark, this hotel, housed in an Art Nouveau mansion, is renowned for its personal, friendly, and generally relaxing atmosphere. Although the Atlas discreetly blends into its well-to-do residential area and is within easy walking distance of the museums, the convivial nature of its lounge-bar-restaurant seems to exert a holding suction effect on many of the guests. Rooms are decorated with contemporary artwork on the walls. Pros: friendly staff, well-used public areas, close to the Vondelpark. Cons: mostly residential area, room furnishings feel randomly assembled.
