Fodor's Expert Review Tibet Restaurant

$$ Red Light District Tibetan

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Decked out in rich colors, with photos of the Dalai Lama on the wall, this friendly spot in the middle of the Red Light action is known for its excellent and atypical food, budget prices, and late hours (till midnight). This was the first Tibetan restaurant to open in the Netherlands and it serves authentic dishes like momo (dumplings); sizzling plates piled with rice and your choice of chicken, beef, fish, pork, prawn, lamb, or vegetables; and spicy Khamba beef, a stew with savory pie crust on the bottom. There is a wide selection of traditional Chinese dishes and vegetarian-friendly options, too, although the Tibetan food is the real appeal.
