After many years of success operating the chaotic and tiny Thai snack bar across the street, Bird's proprietors opened this expansive 100-seat restaurant. Now they have the extra kitchen space to flash-fry their options from an expanded menu, and enough room to place the chunky teak furnishings they had imported from Thailand. The best tables -- where you can enjoy coconut-chicken soup with lemongrass followed by fruity curry with mixed seafood -- are at the rear overlooking the canal.
