With a helpful and courteous staff and basic, light, and simply modern rooms tucked into a lovely red-brick, mansard-roofed house, this is the kind of place that reinforces the image of the Dutch as being nice and orderly. A large family room with lots of stained glass and a sitting area in a bay window faces the garden, as does the breakfast room. Quiet as the surroundings are, the street of extraordinary 19th-century houses is just steps away from the Leidseplein (but,
for that matter, also from the Vondelpark).

Location was convenient, but there was no "family room" and breakfast room was under construction when we were there, so was dark and dismal. Breakfast was mediocre. Room was large, but very dusty and furnishings were a bit worn. Overpriced for what it was.
