Hestia Review

On a street of extraordinary 19th-century houses, the Hestia is parallel to the Vondelpark and close to the Leidseplein. Fitted out with red brick, white trim, and a cute mansard roof, it's certainly easy on the eyes. The Hestia is family operated, with a helpful and courteous staff, and is the kind of place that reinforces the image of the Dutch as a clean and orderly people. The hotel's breakfast room has a view of the garden, and a large family room has a lovely sitting area in a bay window with stained glass that also overlooks the garden. The rooms are basic, light, and simply modern. Four of the rooms are very small, but so is their cost.
