Landmarked by its cupola, the historic and stately department store has presided over the Grachtengordel since 1908 (it first set up shop elsewhere in 1740). Now an outpost of London's famous Liberty store, it carries a decent range of breathtakingly expensive designer articles from around the world. Stop in at the top-floor café where you can enjoy a lovely bird's-eye view of the city.
