Fodor's Review

In the Westergasfabriek arts complex (just behind the Jordaan), the Western Gas Terrace restaurant overlooks a park and a former city gas container that is now an industrial-age monument. The indoor and outdoor seating is separated by retractable glass walls, making this the perfect destination to enjoy the weather and a good meal on a lazy afternoon or evening. The menu is mostly café-style classics that include soups, sandwiches, salads, burgers, a grilled entrecôte, and salmon, with banana cake for dessert. On weekends there is often a barbecue going. A DJ spins on Friday evenings in the spring and summer months.
