Fodor's Review

This former garage is now a brasserie awash with red-plush seating and mirrored walls—perfect for local glitterati who like to see and be seen. This is the home of the celebrity chef Joop Braakhekke, whose busy schedule of TV appearances necessitates his leaving the kitchen in other—very capable—hands. The food uses French haute cuisine as its starting point. Yes, foie gras is one of their favorite ingredients, and they also make a fine steak tartare—Amsterdam's dish of the moment—at your table. Although champagne, fine wines, and caviar accent the essential poshness of it all, the daily, two-course power-lunch menu is quite reasonably priced at €25.
