Fodor's Review

About two decades ago, the lofty wood-beam interior of the 17th-century Waag (weigh house) was converted into a grand café and restaurant that has remained a popular option for many reasons, one being the many candles that nicely help maintain the building's medieval majesty. The seasonal, international menu uses only Dutch (and mainly organic) products, with entrées like a guinea fowl with tarragon, cabbage, and gravy, and tenderloin of Dutch beef with cauliflower and potato gratin. Breakfast is served starting at 9 am, and lunch items include salads and sandwiches. A spacious terrace is open when the weather permits.
