Fodor's Review

Amsterdam locals closely guard their pick for the best (and least expensive) steakhouse in the city—but that doesn't prevent hoards of diners from descending on this bustling bistrolike Dutch institution. Students, sophisticates, and families all love this place, where the prime attraction is the beef fillet for €16.95 or a spicier version called a "bali" for €17.95 (extra-large versions cost slightly more). All steaks are served rare—you can't get them any other way. If you're not in the mood for steak, you can also order the hamburger or the pork schnitzel, or, for the non-beefeater, sole and tuna. The best dessert on the menu is the sticky toffee cake.
