Fodor's Review

Once upon a time this location was a legendary Dutch grand café complete with Turkish carpeted tables and a distinctive old-world feel. Since its reopening in 2010, the Brasserie Witteveen is now quite modern with a central bar and brasserie section, mosaic-tiled floors, a 16-meter chesterfield sofa, wine room, and a separate play area for children (who also have their own menu). However, it remains as neighborly as ever as they serve café-style dishes everyday for breakfast,

lunch, and dinner. In particular, their soups (remember that the Dutch are masters) are delightful: don't miss their Dutch-style pea soup or their potato soup with smoked eel.
