Fodor's Review

Amsterdam hotel rooms don't come any sleeker than the ones inside this ornate brick mansion redone in contemporary chic—they're all gleaming surfaces and sharply contrasting tones, stark black-and-white furnishings softened by natural wood accenting. For bursts of real color, simply look outside the windows, as front rooms have fine views of the Vondelpark (always in demand) and those in the back look out over the garden and terrace. The P. C. Hooftstraat, the Concertgebouw,

and major art museums are nearby.

What a find!

We loved the Piet Hein! I wanted a room with a tub and my TC wanted breakfast included. We were very happy on both counts. The tub was long and deep and breakfast was wonderful. The location was perfect for us. The lounge/bar area is comfortable and there is free internet access. On our last night I tripped on a nearby curb and injured my knee. The staff called a cab and I went to the ER. All ended OK. I mention this only to say the staff was helpful

and concerned. I loved Amsterdam and the Piet Hein.
