Fodor's Review

An impressive early 20th-century bank turned music school is a visual feast, with a glass-roofed, tree-filled courtyard lobby and dramatically modern guest rooms, many of them duplexes, with huge windows, muted tones, and splashes of color. Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni added dramatic steel staircases and other contemporary touches while maintaining Jugendstil tiles, columns, archways, and other original features to create these stunning and luxurious surroundings.

Several restaurants and a state-of-the-art gym and spa enhance a stay, but just sinking into a sofa and taking in the beautiful design is a pleasure in itself.
