$-$$, Japanese, Canal Ring
Fodor's Review:
This long-popular Japanese eatery once offered only takeout; now you can linger over an evening meal along with some excellent plum wine (umeshuu). Although the menu focuses on sushi, the kitchen also offers fantastic baked tofu (atsuage) and some super-delicious gyoza -- steamed or fried dumplings filled with veggies or seafood. You may still choose to forgo dining in the oddly Mediterranean-style dining room and take your meal to a nearby bench on the Amstel or to the green expanses of Saraphatipark.
