Grand'Rue 126, Vianden, Diekirch, L9411, Luxembourg
In the same family since 1880, this once-traditional lodging has gone deluxe, decorating its rooms and restaurant in lush fabrics and modern, built-in fixtures. Only the café and stairwell retain the old-Vianden atmosphere, with game trophies and burnished oak. The restaurant, Le Châtelain, now contemporary and posh as well, attracts nonguests for its ambitious French cooking and its views toward the village and castle. The hotel café is much more modestly priced.
