Passes and Discounts

Avoid lines and save money by booking services and venue entry online with Venice Connected (veniceconnected.com). The service was introduced in 2009 and continues to evolve. Currently, you must book at least seven days in advance to get the lowest rates, which are also dependent on your arrival date. Venice Connected guarantees the lowest prices on parking, toilet service, museum passes, Wi-Fi access, and airport transfers. Venice Connected supplements the VENICEcard (041/2424 www.hellovenezia.com), a pass that provides more comprehensive discounted access to sights, tours, shows, and certain shops.

Sixteen of Venice's most significant churches are part of the Chorus Foundation (041/2750462 www.chorusvenezia.org) umbrella group, which coordinates their administration, hours, and admission fees. Churches in the group are open to visitors all day except Sunday morning. Single church entry costs €3; you have a year to visit all 16 with the €10 Chorus Pass. Family and student discounts are also available. Get a pass at any participating church or online.

The Museum Pass ( €24.50) from Musei Civici (041/2715911 www.museiciviciveneziani.it) includes one-time entry to 12 Venice museums; it's valid for six months. The Museums of San Marco Pass Plus (€14) is good for the museums on the piazza All these passes are offered at veniceconnected.com or at the individual museum sites. The Gallerie dell'Accademia and Ca' d'Oro are state, not city, museums, so are not covered in the Museum Pass from Musei Civici. Most comprehensive is the new MUVE pass (€45), which offers unlimited multiple access for one year to all the city museums.
