Passes and Discounts

Avoid lines and save money by booking services and venue entry online with Venice Connected (veniceconnected.com). The service was introduced in 2009 and continues to evolve. Currently, you must book at least seven days in advance; discounts depend on arrival dates. For example, during the "medium/low" season, a weeklong vaporetto transit pass is €37.50 instead of €50. Venice Connected guarantees the lowest prices on parking, public transit passes, toilet service, museum passes, Wi-Fi access, and airport transfers. Venice Connected may replace the VENICEcard (041/2424 www.hellovenezia.com), a pass that provides more-comprehensive discounted access to sights and transportation.

Sixteen of Venice's most significant churches are part of the Chorus Foundation (041/2750462 www.chorusvenezia.org) umbrella group, which coordinates their administration, hours, and admission fees. Churches in the group are open to visitors all day except Sunday morning. Single church entry costs €3; you have a year to visit all 16 with the €10 Chorus Pass. Family and student discounts are also available. Get a pass at any church or online.

The Museum Pass (€18) from Musei Civici (041/2715911 www.museiciviciveneziani.it) includes one-time entry to 12 Venice museums. The Museums of San Marco Pass Plus (€13; April-October) is good for the museums on the piazza, plus another civic museum of your choice. The Museums of San Marco Pass (€12; November-March) is good only for the piazza's museums. All these passes are discounted at VeniceConnected.com.
