This cheery, homey bed-and-breakfast takes its name from the bridge leading to its entrance (one of the only two left in the lagoon without hand railings). Attentively appointed rooms with geranium-filled window boxes overlook either the bridge and expansive canals below or the spacious enclosed garden. It's a family-owned operation, and service is accommodating and friendly; you'll get lots of suggestions for dining and sightseeing. The private garden and patio are perfect for a relaxing breakfast or scribbling postcards or e-mails to the folks back home. A kitchen is available for guests' use. Some bathrooms are smallish, but overall it's an excellent value. The location is also handy to the Ca' d'Oro vaporetto. Pros: Highly attentive service; warm, relaxed atmosphere; canal views. Con: No elevator will be a problem for some.
