The place feels as much like a typical vegetarian restaurant as you could expect to find in Venice, what with its simple place settings and exposed wood walls. Though the menu does have superb meat dishes such as the sfilacci di cavallo con radicchio trevigiano (smoked horse meat with radicchio), more attention is paid to dishes from the garden: try the sedano rapa gratina al pecorino (celery root gratin with pecorino cheese) or the finocchi piccanti con olive (fennel in a spicy tomato-olive sauce). Friendly service in a number of languages is the norm.

Surprised

Very unusual and interesting food, let down a little by attitude of staff - perhaps a result of being so popular ? Seemed unhelpful when asked for the occasional translation into English. They were also very surprised that we were surprised not to receive our vegetable side orders with the main course... is this new Italian vegetarian etiquette ?? Ample portions did arrive after the main meal, particularly good were the courgette and basil, potato dauphinoise annd spinach in cream sauce.

This is why people read these Reviews, to find these great little neighborhood restaurants with a 5-Star kitchen! Very frÃendly, fantastic food (pumpkin flan with gargonzola!) and nice setting. More Italians than tourists. Best Deal in town for eats and cost.
