Fodor's Review:

A country taverna (tavern) in the center of Venice, this popular restaurant grills its meat over an open fire. First, though, don't overlook the cichetti at the counter, such as the paper-thin prosciutto wrapped around grissini (thin bread sticks). For main courses, take your pick from such Italian specialties as fillet of beef with pepper sauce or veal with wild mushrooms. Fish fans may gravitate toward the scampi, calamari, or squid with polenta.

This review is a decade out of date. No open fire, no cichetti, no counter. Now a rather elegant place -- decor, tableware, etc. Can be noisy, as it is popular with tour groups. Lunch features a workman's meal that brings many locals.
