Hotel Cipriani

Fodor's Review:

It's impossible to feel stressed in this oasis of stunning rooms and suites, some with garden patios. The hotel launch whisks you to Giudecca from San Marco and back at any hour; those opting for a cocktail at the patio bar before dinner can use it as well. Rooms of extraordinary luxury are available both in the main building and in the adjoining 16th-century-style annexes, Palazzo Vendramin and Palazzetto, which offer views across to Piazza San Marco. Prices are high even by Venetian standards, but this is the only place in town with such extensive facilities and services, from an Olympic-size pool and tennis courts to cooking courses, a beauty-and-wellness center, fitness programs, and even a vineyard. Pros: Many amenities, private getaway feeling. Con: Even with the hotel taxi, coming and going can be somewhat inconvenient.
