This cozy, elegant hotel offers a welcome respite from the throngs churning around Piazza San Marco. Family owned, it has an attentive staff and comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Classic Venetian designs are given a Carnevale theme, with each room's decor dedicated to one of the traditional masks. The relaxed atmosphere pervades at breakfast, where it's common to get engrossed in conversation with the other guests. Pros: Intimate and romantic, extraordinarily friendly staff. Con: Located in the one of the busiest and most commercial areas of the city.

This small hotel (or B & B if you prefer) is just lovely. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the owners and the staff. They are so friendly and helpful and make one feel instantly at home. Breakfast was the best we had anywhere in Europe.
