Locanda Orseolo Review
This cozy, elegant hotel offers a welcome respite from the throngs churning around Piazza San Marco. Family owned, it has an attentive staff and comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Traditional Venetian decor takes on a Carnevale theme, with each room design inspired by a particular mask; many rooms have fanciful wall murals. Common areas have warm mahogany paneling, tufted leather furniture, beamed ceilings, and tapestries. A relaxed atmosphere pervades at breakfast, where it's common to get engrossed in conversation with the other guests as gondolas glide lazily by the water-level windows.

This small hotel (or B & B if you prefer) is just lovely. I can't say enough about the hospitality of the owners and the staff. They are so friendly and helpful and make one feel instantly at home. Breakfast was the best we had anywhere in Europe.
