At this tidy bacaro con cucina (with kitchen) you can have a traditional meal featuring such dishes as bigoli in salsa (thick spaghetti with anchovy sauce), baked fish with herbs, and ravioli with scampi and chicory. The name, which translates as "Old Fry Shop," refers to a bygone Venetian tradition of shops selling fried fish "to go," like in London, except paired with polenta rather than chips. For EUR 8, you can still get a paper cone of fritto here.

This is a place which has seen better days.
The food is good, maybe even excellent, but the aging setup and the fellow guests make for a depressing athmosphere. Rather try the Trattoria al Ponte next door, where you can sit with Venetians outdoors and eat nice food at half the price...
