This landmark canal-side hotel is a blend of Venetian elegance and contemporary design. The centerpiece of the restored original section is the convivial waterfront restaurant; many guest rooms share the same panoramic lagoon views. A big, bright reception area, created by roofing an inner courtyard with glass, leads to the newer rear section, which was once the Sala del Ridotto, a luxurious gambling house. It's almost worth staying here just to spend time in the sumptuous lounge with adjoining bar. Rooms in both sections are in modern Italian style, with spacious bathrooms in a warm, beige marble.

Rooms nice but small, great location and service from staff, eclectic lobby - not for me. Would stay again.
