Dei Dogi, housed in an old Venetian palace that once served as the French embassy, offers easy access to the northern lagoon, a private garden, lounges with tall Renaissance-style windows, and majestic Murano chandeliers. Well-appointed rooms featuring red Venetian floors, Oriental carpets, and antique-looking furnishings are all here at two-thirds the price of comparable Venetian hotels. The quiet and romantic beauty of the surroundings makes the (relative) splurge worthwhile.
