$$-$$$, Italian, San Polo
Fodor's Review:
Conveniently located on the route from Campo San Polo to the Frari, this pleasant family restaurant serves good, honest Venetian cuisine. The house specialty is a generous portion of creamy white polenta topped by shelled scampi, in the fall served with porcini. Poorly prepared elsewhere in town, the capesante gratinate (scallop gratin) here is made with just enough bread crumbs to make it nice and crusty on top. Desserts -- standards such as crème caramel -- are homemade and light. The garden is a charming spot to dine in fair weather.
